Established in 2010 by Ar. Gauri S Gandhi and Ar. Vikas Gandhi, plan loci is a New Delhi-based design consultancy firm which provides comprehensive services in landscape, architecture and interior design while extending itself into product design.
After completing their graduation from the School of Planning and Architecture in 2001, Ar. Vikas started his career in architecture while Ar. Gauri got involved in her further studies and completed her post graduation in Landscape Architecture in 2004. Obtaining sufficient experiences while working with reputed architectural firms, the duo decided to open their own architectural studio 'plan loci' with an inspiration 'to arrange the parts of the pervading spirit of a place'.
plan loci, which stands to find the balance between the tangible and the intangible, believes that each requirement in its context presents a unique solution, the designer acting as a conduit to channelize experiences. The approach is to understand in depth the needs of the client, both said and those left unsaid, while the goal remains to erode the layers of complexity to achieve simplicity in design.
The firm so far has completed many architectural, interior and landscape projects, which are special in their own. The recent one is 'Pixels' - The Digital Studio where the scope was refurbishment of the façade and interiors. And the intent was to highlight the occupation on the built form and add a speck of liveliness on a drab commercial street in New Delhi.
