The popularity of thermostats continues to grow unabated as consumers increasingly appreciate the added comfort, safety, and savings offered by thermostatic mixers. In response to this growing fondness, GROHE has overhauled its range of entry-level thermostats which has a small but welcome improvement for added comfort in day-to-day use. First introduced back in 1995, this model has since been benefited from regular improvements and this latest incarnation Grohtherm 1000 is without doubt the best to date. Grohtherm 1000 comes packed with advanced technology to offer optimum functionality. Despite its diameter of only 43 mm, its slim body is all about stability and safety, incorporating as it does with the proprietary GROHE CoolTouch® technology. A newly developed insulating ring keeps the hot water away from the thermostat body, thereby preventing the surface from heating up. In addition, the thermostatic cartridge has been shifted towards the left, thereby shortening the hot water channel within the unit and ruling out the risk of scalding on the chrome surface.

Fresh design ideas

Grohtherm 1000's screw fixed solid metal handles, escorted with easy-to-grip winglets, not only enhance its look and feel but also allow confident operation even with wet and soapy hands. The temperature control handle features a SafeStop button, to turn the water temperature up to more than 38oC. Intuitive use of the controls is also aided by the self-explanatory symbols. Its volume control handle is equipped with an EcoButton to help reduce the water consumption by up to 50%, while the AquaDimmer mechanism enables smooth and economical switching between bath filling and showering mode. Its unique GROHE TurboStat® technology allows instant and accurate adjustment of the water temperature.

Versions for concealed installation

The complete Grohtherm 1000 range is available for concealed installation, for bathtub and shower as well as for use as a central thermostat and shut-off valve. Besides featuring solid metal handles, the range comes equipped with the SafeStop Button and the EcoButton on the shower and bath versions with the latter also having the AquaDimmer function. The concealed shower and bath thermostats are best installed using the GROHE Rapido T universal body.
