At IMK Architects, we strive to create places where people thrive – be it homes, schools, offices or cities. With growing populations and rapid urbanisation, our cities have fallen prey to haphazard development. We believe that architects and planners can play an important role in making our cities more sustainable and liveable.
Earlier this year, we were joined by 25+ architects and urbanists from across Mumbai, including Akhtar Chauhan; Alan Abraham; Shreya Nagrath, Arijit Sen, and Anil Nagrath from Anil Nagrath and Associates; Nilabh Nagar from Architect Hafeez Contractor; Manish Dikshit from AUM Architects; Rujuta Mody from Connect Four Design Studio; Nitin Killawala andNimit Killawala from G7 Architects; Trupti Amritwar from M.E.S.N.; Kalpit Ashar from Mad(e) in Mumbai; Manisha Agarwal and Shantanu Poredi from MO-OF Architects; Ashok Datar from Mumbai Mobility Forum; PK Das and Samarth Das from P K Das and Associates; Jasmine Saluja from PLURAL; Prashant Sutaria; Ratan J. Batliboi; Samir D’monte; Salil Ranadivé; Pranav Naik from Studio Pomegranate; Vijayshree Pednekar from The Urban Project; and Rohit Lahoti, Urban Consultant, EY (Government of Maharashtra).
We came together to address issues related to public housing, public transport and public spaces. This meeting led to the formation of Mumbai Architects Collective – a group of architects, planners and transport experts that will work together to make our city a better place.
